Early Morning PhotoShop Work

I couldn’t sleep thaInfrarednks to my cough, so I am up a bit earlier than usual…what should I do? How about a bit of infrared work in PhotoShop 🙂

This is a shot from the spring of 2013, that I had some fun with Lightroom’s Infrared filters. I remember shooting actual IR film back in the day and loving the effects through various red filters, so thought it would be fun to play around with it digitally as well.

Getting Ready For Mountsberg

Next weekend, I’ll be heading to Mountsberg Raptor Centre, which I visited a couple years ago when I received an invite from a friend. The nice thing about how this group does it, is we split a private shoot, so I’m very much looking forward to it again. Last time I went I went a bit crazy with the shots, as I hadn’t been out in a while with birds. This time I plan on focusing more on quality over quantity, but I thought I’d share one of my favourites from the 2014 shoot.

Comments welcome, of course! Oh, and feel free to click the image below to see the full-sized photo 🙂

Barn Owl Wings Out

Coffee, Anyone?

It’s fumugnny…several people that have visited the blog in its first month of existence have asked if I like coffee, and the answer to this is a resounding “Yes!“.

I thought I’d have a bit of fun on this Tuesday morning and share a bit about what kind of coffee I prefer, and show off my new personal mug that I use in the office (with my own photography featured, of course 🙂 )

My taste for coffee is varied (similar to my music and reading tastes, I guess), and I have to mention, I suppose, that being a Canadian, yes, I enjoy a Timmy’s every now and then, but in the office, I usually enjoy the Paradiso Dark by Second Cup in our Tassimo brewer. A couple of these in the morning usually gets me through the busiest of days. My weekend taste differs a bit, so on a lazy Saturday morning at home, I enjoy one of the few “flavoured” coffees that I actually like – Wild Mountain Blueberry by Green Mountain Coffee – in our Keurig.

So, what are your favourite coffees? Not a coffee drinker? Well, you’re still welcome here LOL

WordPress Photo Challenge – Optimistic

This week’s WordPress Photo Challenge theme is:

Optimistic: How do you fuel the fires of optimism?

This sunset, shot in the summer of 2013 while camping at The Pinery, to me, epitomizes the optimism of a summer vacation, away from the bustle of work…a time to recharge with family and friends nearby. We go here every summer and it has to be one of the most relaxing weeks of our year! This particular shot was taken our first evening there that summer and just got me so ready for the week to come!

DIY Meals

So after a great (but very long) day of strategy and planning discussions, we sat down to a superb three-course meal…lo and behold, though, when my sirloin arrived I had to actually cook it myself! Awesome! That stone slab is granite and very hot! Quite the experience 🙂
